The Vital Few - Boole's Third Full-Length Album
===============================================
(Synopsis From Sonic Mainline)
It's been five years since electronic anarchists Boole released their acclaimed "Pheromones," but the D.C. based troublemakers are back with excellent follow-up, "The Vital Few." As a quick (very quick, in fact) description for the uninitiated, know only this: Boole defy, plain and simple, mixing diverse styles such as psytrance and R&B, breaks and good ol' fashion industrial into their patented no-holds-barred musical melting pot. Since Pheromones, they've played shows with top-notch bands like Covenant, Iris, and And One, created the scene phenomenon Noonerschaft, and did epic remixes for bands like Stromkern (and we're not using the term "epic" lightly here), so they've been busy. The Vital Few is well worth the wait.
We could be humble, but screw that-- Boole is the answer to the whiny masses that claim "There's nothing interesting in ebm/industrial anymore." They're that cool/weird kid in high school that sat alone in art class that everyone wanted to know. They're that band that all the cool bands like.
So welcome to Boole, and welcome to The Vital Few. We could try and explain it further, but it's easier to say this: "Scene" purists will most likely not enjoy this. However, people who enjoy creative music that alternates between heartfelt sincerity and sonic insanity will. In other words, people with taste (or lack thereof) who don't want their music spoon-fed yet still want to shake their ass on the dancefloor. It ain't hard to listen to, but it also doesn't pander. It's uncompromising like underground music should be, and that's a beautiful thing.
So, again, welcome to The Vital Few.

About Boole
============
Seminal: The Apologizers.
Boole first took form in 1990 as The Apologizers, a comedically oriented and eclectic electronica project whose closest popular relatives might have been Ween, or some of the stranger projects of Atom Heart. Live shows involved extreme weirdness and instrument smashing. (Apologizers material is still available for purchase on boole.org, in the form of the 500 unit limited edition double CD "Blimp To The Sun," which represents a cross section of over 250 works written between 1990 and 2000.)
The Reformation: Boole.
In 1996, boole was formed by br0d and MAB in Baltimore, Maryland, at Loyola College. After doing a few comps and playing a few shows in the local area, boole relocated to scenic Washington, DC. Sonically, boole represents elements of old style EBM, trance, rhythmic industrial, electro, jazz, funk, disco, and other popular forms. Their music is self-professed "synthtrance," and hybridization will always be a predominant aspect of their music. For better or worse, beyond the staple elements of beat and melody, you will never know exactly what to expect from boole, because boole's background leaves them no choice but to innovate. Both formative members come from jazz and classical performance backgrounds first and foremost, with later excursions into punk, thrash, metal, hardcore, and of course trance, techno, and G/I. ALL members are driven by a deep and abiding love for music, just like you. Chances are, if you're not currently a fan, then you've probably heard a boole song and not even known it.
