The Buttplugs are four unique individuals with common purposes in life; to spread their brand of stupidity worldwide through music and to autograph large breasts with Sharpie markers. The Buttplugs have a wide range of musical influences, but sound like no one. We put Frank Zappa, Slayer, The Sex Pistols, S.O.D./M.O.D., The Ramones, AC/DC, and The Misfits into a big pot, stir and boil, and see what we can come up with. We are not for everybody, we are raw, and we accept the truth that we will never be able to do this full time professionally. We just love making music and having a good time writing, performing, and recording. Tell us we suck and we don't care, tell us you like us and you have four new friends for life. Johny Bottom is the founder, leader, songwriter, rhythm guitar player and lead vo-kill-ist of The Buttplugs. He came up with the band name while working in an adult toy/video store for six months off Highway 175. His musical heroes are Jimi Hendrix and Frank Zappa. Where Johny comes up short in talent he makes up for in enthusiasm. He is a collector of Wendy Whoppers memorabilia and loves 1970s muscle cars. His all time heroes are Marilyn Monroe and Marie Antoinette. Quoted saying âJimi Hendrix is not God, but imagine the universe if he was!â

Colon Banger is the hockey mask wearing lead guitarist. He has never taken a lesson in his life and actually performs better while under the influence of LSD. He was thrown out of high school in 10th grade for sexually harassing his teacher while trying to get her to buy some marijuana. His obsession with B-Rated horror movies consumes most of his life outside The Buttplugs. He has been known to watch every Friday the 13th movie back to back non-stop while sitting in his dark apartment over a weekend. He has a huge collection of movies that most people would never want to see. From Robot Monster to Cat Women on the Moon, Colon loves them all and watches them over and over again. Quoted saying âWhy are no talent hacks like Tom Cruise, Will Smith, and Nicolas Cage so rich and famous when itâs obvious that Bruce Campbell is the worldâs greatest actor?â

Humungus Probus is The Buttplugsâ bass player. This Sci-Fi freak only plays bass to raise money to finance an expedition to Talos IV. His goal in life is to find Vena, in her green skinned form, from the Star Trek pilot episode. Not only does he actually think she exists, he believes she is somehow aware of him and waiting for him. HP, as he is called by his friends, also spent some time in Japan, which is where he got his fixation for strange Asian kookiness. His stage persona is âUltra-Manâ a superhero from a 1960âs Japanese TV show. Humungus Probus is a great bass player and despite his strangeness, The Buttplugs know that it just wouldnât be the same without him. His musical influence is Cliff Burton. Quotes saying âI would give up anything or do anything for a time machine.â

Uranius Bum Feeler (UBF) is the newest member of The Buttplugs replacing long time drummer Bum Thumb. We wish Bum all the best. He decided to go back to Florida and make a living smoking dope on Siesta Key Beach and being a gigolo for sexy senior citizens. Not much is known about Uranius Bum Feeler yet. We donât know where he came from or even understand the language that he speaks. We found him walking around our rehearsal shed looking up at the stars. He no longer has the green glow that he used to, but definitely enjoys going to Kentucky Fried Chicken. He is a little shy and does not like his picture taken. At live gigs he hides under a sheet while seated behind his drum set. We can tell when he is happy because he will begin muttering âBum bum bum bum bum bumâ in a rapid, high pitched fashion.
