Kelby Bruno began writing music as a teenager in her hometown of Los Angeles, California. She remembers walking on the beach in Mexico just singing her heart out along the miles and miles of empty beaches and thinking that one day she would love to write songs and sing. " I listened to my dad's collection of Charlie Byrd and Sergio Mendes (Brazil 66') albums when I was a little girl and sang along to them." I also admired Joni Mitchell Carole King, and Ricky Lee Jones.

Out of high school, Kelby became very interested in the sport of windsurfing and had a deep desire to compete. After moving to Maui, Hawaii in the mid 1980's, she soon was able to compete and earned herself a spot on the world tour. For the next ten years she traveled around the world and competed among world- class windsurfers. Her expertise became wave riding and wave jumping. After reaching the top of her sport and many trophies later, her songwriting desire started to re-surface again, and she recorded her first album. "The Whisper That I Heard" in 1998. "I wrote the song "Whisper To My Spirit" while traveling on a train in Tokyo, Japan. I realized that so many were without hope, and God began to whisper in my ear about the great need.

In 1993, Kelby traveled with YWAM(Youth With A Mission) to Eastern Europe for a summer performing in city centers, halls and various venues spreading the love of Christ through concerts and evangelism. After her tour there, she realized that God was giving her songs for hope and encouragement. "After my summer in Eastern Europe, I believe God gave me a vision along with a scripture as a cornerstone for the ministry He was calling me to. He gave me the vision to sing to the nations, and a scripture from Isaiah 61:1-3.
"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, Because the Lord has anointed me
to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives, and freedom to prisoners."

Since then, Kelby has ministered to hundreds of people in churches, youth groups, children's ministries, coffee houses and radio shows in many nations around the world.
She recently lived in South Australia with her husband and two children for three years and ministered throughout Australia including the annual Australian Gospel Music Festival in Toowoomba, Queensland.

She is now living in Redondo Beach, California with her husband, Chris and her two boys, Cade and Chase. She continues to write and perform, as well as serve in her local church. Her most recent album, "Captivated" is a collection of songs written about faith and family. She is writing and planning on doing her third album in 2005.
