Details:
Julie was raised in a family rich with spiritual heritage and full of faith. Growing up in a church with a strong emphasis on scripture memorization, the word of God began to take root at an early age. Julie received Godâs call into ministry at age 20. Since then she has experienced remarkable times of impartation, causing her love for Father to grow deeper. Knowing God more intimately has fueled her faith to rest daily in His provision and care. She, too, has been impacted greatly through kingdom alignment and freely shares her experiences with others, encouraging them to trust in the redemptive power of Christ. Leading worship from the keys, she combines corporate and prophetic worship to bring others to Jesus, the Giver of Life. Julie is pursuing Godâs vision of the restored, radiant Bride as described in Isaiah 61. She enjoys writing original music used in worship and soaking settings, and often does so spontaneously.
Julie wears the administrative hat in the family. She is in charge of doing all the book work and scheduling for Arndtâs Custom Painting and Oil & Water Ministries. She also does all the administrative duties and musical prep work for the worship teams at Open Door.
Matthew
Raised on the mission and evangelistic fields, Matthew has been a first hand witness to Godâs power and cloud of glory. It is his deepest desire for the church to walk in the fullness of the Kingdom of God. Combining his experiences of walking in the supernatural with his understanding and passion to live in alignment with Godâs kingdom, Matthew is gifted in leading others to understand who they are in Christ and how they can freely embrace all that God has created them to be.
Matthew does not make tents, but he paints them! Matthew has been painted most of his life. He began at a young age, working with his family in between mission and evangelistic trips. This is what helped support them and this is what helps support us. We have our own business, Arndtâs Custom Painting, and God has truly blessed it. Not only does it provide for our needs, but it is flexible to fit around our ministry schedule.
Us
Through Godâs creative design, we met each other through the mail. I know that sounds very intriguing, and someday we may even have time to tell you the whole story. But suffice to say, we met through a friend and a sister and each knew from the very first letter that God had planned this from the beginning of time. We were married in 1988 and have never doubted that we made the right choice! Like most marriages, we have had our difficult moments, but overall it has been very good. We have both been on a healing journey for many years now and, as we have allowed God to align our thinking with His and as He has healed our past hurts, our marriage has strengthened immensely! Sometimes it seems like we could not possibly love each other more, but then we seem to pass through another season that proves us wrong. It has been an amazing journey together and we canât wait to see what the future holds for us!
We have a passion to see the Bride of Christ connect with the majesty, power, and love of God, the Father. Because we believe we are on a lifelong journey to align our thinking and character with that of Christâs, we have submitted ourselves to that process through the accountability of our home church and others who have very lovingly mentored us. We are so thankful to God for the freedom we have received through this process and, so, we continue to allow God to renew our minds in every area of our lives. In doing so, this has become a lifestyle that has greatly impacted how we relate to each other and everyone around us. God is faithful, as are many of our family and friends, who regularly encourage us in this. We really do âspur one another on in the faith!â The resulting fruit is we continue to press higher in worship and deeper in relationship with God and others. As we continue to love well (God and others), we find Godâs Kingdom is truly at hand and Kingdom living becomes a natural response.
We are honored to serve as Worship Co-Pastors at Open Door Christian Fellowship where we facilitate worship in a variety of styles and settings. We also provide administrative and spiritual oversight to other teams and all team members. What a joy it is to serve with these good friends as we lead others to see the amazing God we serve! We love our home church and feel truly blessed to be there. Matthew brings spiritual leadership and direction to the worship teams of Open Door. He plays the bass guitar and sings on one team. He also serves as a member of the Church Council. Julie leads one worship team and plays keys. Exuberant and intimate worship are a regular part of most services.
We also provide ministry to churches, worship teams, couples and individuals within our community and abroad. For more information visit us at www.oilandwaterministries.org.
