INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED INTERMEDIATE. A tab for the one-chorus harmonica solo from Sonny Boy Williamson's most famous composition, "Help Me." Transcribed and arranged by Adam Gussow of Satan and Adam.
It's hard to overstate the importance of this solo, and this song. It's not just a top-25 desert-island cut for blues harp players around the world, but it's arguably the one blues harp classic that other blues players--guitarists, vocalists, you name it--all know. It comes up at virtually every jam session. It is part of the blues world's common stock.
Technical challenges include brisk triplets in a 3-against-2 rhythm; warbles; staccato (chuck-chuck) chording; and a bit of tricky timing.
Harp key: B-flat, although the tab is playable in any key.
Note: a video tutorial for this song is also available.
