Details:
Key Note Speaker's debut album Fiction was released in February of 2005 and has quickly proven to be a breath of fresh air to the Seattle music scene.

The music entrances with undeniably poppy hooks, yet definitely brings the rock. Scott Gallagher's high intensity comes through in his moving vocals, personal lyrics and guitar driven songwriting. Ed O'Brien is a master of his craft on the bass; Hard hitting Joe "The Beast" Couden is quickly earning respect as the drummer to watch in Seattle. The finishing touch on keyboards is Chris Olson, adding tasty 60's era hooks and serious atmosphere to songs like "Pretty" and "In the Air".

This is not a band overwhelmed by their influences, nor overly influenced by their contemporaries. Daniel Beer from The Wig writes: "Key Note Speaker proves they are not another bland pop-rock band destined to a short life on the airwaves of college radio.Take warning, however, with each spin of fiction, the album infects your mind a little bit more. Key Note Speaker plays familiar music that simultaneously feels alien to your ears; definitely not another formula band."

After forming in 2003, Key Note Speaker recorded Fiction in October of 2004 with Jack Endino (Nirvana, The Gits, Hot Hot Heat). The album features guest appearances by singer/songwriter Jen Wood (The Postal Service, Black Heart Procession) and cello by Brent Arnold (Modest Mouse, Sleater-Kinney, Built to Spill).

They are currently playing in and around Seattle, and are soon touring the West Coast.
