Details:
Kim Virant has forged a style that is a powerful, outwardly directed force to be reckoned with, and an expression of the solace she has found in herself and her music.

Kim's success began with her first band, Lazy Susan. Leading this much-loved rock band at the height of Seattle's famed music years, Kim was one of the few women that stepped up to the plate and said, "I wanna play with the boys." Six years saw the release of two Lazy Susan albums; sales of over 12,000 copies, sold-out club shows, and openings for rock behemoths Page & Plant and Pearl Jam. Lazy Susan played their last show in December 1996.

Kim has spent the past five years exploring her talent and honing her craft, creating energy both strong and evocative. Her first solo album, 1998's self-released "Signal's Crossed and Meanings Lost" was a powerful, 70's-style exercise in countrified blues-rock that allowed the singer/songwriter to take control of her music and lead a group of astounding musicians.

Kim's new record, "Stealing Days" (on Seattle-based Good Ink Records), displays the melting pot that has been shaped by her many inspirations and knack for drawing distinctly talented musicians. The pieces fall perfectly into place to produce a sound that conveys the exhilaration of rock and roll, the sensuality of country twang, and the sophistication of adult contemporary.

What they're saying:
"...Virant's rich, world-on-her-shoulders voice is a constant presence-the only thing that changes is the landscape behind it."
- Steve Stav, The Rocket

"The band is tight, the sound is full; not too sweet, not too tart...Virant has tremendous grace and stage presence."
- Portland Mercury
