Track #2, "The Levee", is a song Stephen Spivey and I wrote a few years ago pertaining to the very situation that New Orleans is experiencing right now; the Levee breaking and the city flooding. At the time I wrote the lyrics I was in New Orleans facing down another hurricane, of which I forget the name off hand, but at the last minute the Hurricane switched its course and turned away from N.O.

Unfortunately the message in the lyrics is not a hypothetical anymore and it seems somewhat surreal to listen to... Our prayers go out to all affected and we hope that our measly few bucks can help out those in need! Cheers, Kip

Cabin Fever
Kris Kolp is to modest to sing his own praises, so allow me to do the honors. The amiable guitarist/singer/harmonica player for local band Full Black Out ( http://www.fullblackout.com ) is a veteran of Jess Franklin & the Best Little Blues Band and the head honcho of local recording outfit Log Cabin Studio. Kolp's talents as a musician and producer/engineer come together on his solo CD, "Kip Kale's Log Cabin Music," a very tasty, highly listenable, finely crafted set of nine songs featuring some stellar musical cohorts. Franklin is there providing slick, hot slide guitar, Jason Fuller and Tony Giordano pitch in on piano and organ, the sublime Avis Berry lends her lovely voice in support and Kolp is all over the place on guitars, vocals and smokin' harmonica.
