Details:
WE CAN PLAY embodies the elements that Kiara Hunter's music is all about. This is a fun and exciting debut CD that embraces the sounds and beats that make you move. The lyrics, combined with Kiara's trademark sultry voice, grab you by the ears and find you wherever you are. There's no hiding from the infectious energy.

The songs on We Can Play were all written by Kiara and Grammy winning producer Ian Prince (Quincy Jones and Joy Enriquez) or Juno nominated producer Chin Injeti (Snow, Maestro, The Barenaked Ladies). First single, "Believe" brings about faith and the acceptance of oneself, "With You" and "Push Me" embrace relationships of love and sweet surrender and "Work it Out" is an ode to not giving up on something worth holding onto, while "Nothing" touches on the world of heartbreak and the inner strength needed to overcome all obstacles.

Kiara worked with top songwriters and producers like Prince and Injeti to complete We Can Play in time for a 2003 spring release. The ten songs found on the album mix the themes of movement, edge and attitude, with a sense of playfulness and freedom. The sound and beats of "We Can Play" mirror Kiara's love of R&B, dance and pop with the edginess of techno and rock 'n' roll.

In the spring of 2002, Kiara was the opening act for Virgin Record's hot, girl-group, Atomic Kitten. Kiara played 22 venues in the UK with the band, performing for over 60,000 screaming fans.

In the latter part of last year the first single from We Can Play, "Believe," was released to radio in both Canada and the UK. The track did extremely well in Europe, charting at number 9, 22 and 38 in the dance/pop genres, topping Whitney Houston's 'Whatchulookinat," and received airplay nationally in Canada. The video for "Believe" also received play on Canada's MuchMusic. Kiara returned to the UK for a promotional/radio tour to support the single, keeping up the song's momentum.

The infectious beat and international appeal of "Believe" resulted in popular play in the club scene and led to three of Kiara's songs being placed in the Alliance Atlantic film, Protection, starring Stephen Baldwin and Peter Gallagher.

Currently, Kiara is releasing her second single, "With You," a contemporary love ballad that is very different from the high energy "Believe." This is the type of song that will bring out the romance in everyone, while still getting bodies moving on and off the dance floor. All the lyrics are written by Kiara and were inspired by her own experiences.
