Details:
Saxophonist Antoine Knight made Atlanta Jazz history by becoming the first independent artist to be picked by a major radio station (WJZZ 107.5FM) with his debut CD " iN the Red". This was made official with an interview and a live show at The 2005 Atlanta Wings Fest. Inspired by the sounds of Motown at the age of 8, Antoine plays with raw energy and is well know for his interaction with the audience. In 1999, Antoine was featured at Piedmont Park for "Jazz in the Park" and got his big break when he was hired by producer Norman Connors to play for Angela Bofield and Jean Carne. Discovered by an events coordinator, Antoine and his band signed a deal with the Atlanta Falcons to play at the Georgia Dome. Antoine played in front of thousands and wowed the crowd with his funky- jazzy style. In 2003, his former group A'marti becomes winners of Atlanta's "What's Happening TV" for jazz and released their debut "Tell Somebody". Antoine wrote and produced the title track, Knight Time, and Our Day. This led him an appearance on Ken Batie's "Hot Ice in the Afternoon" for 91.9fm.
Proud to be a Yamaha (YAS62) and L.A. Sax performer, Antoine is a Major in the US Army Reserve Command stationed at Fort McPherson. He is married to Sylvia with two children and lives in Hampton, GA.
