ROCK: Acoustic, POP: with Live-band Production

Details:
"While We Wait" is singer/songwriter Koo Chung's sophomore album. Koo, a native of New York City, began playing music in college singing lead vocals for the band Broken For Good. In 2001, Koo embarked on a solo career and has since then opened for artists such as Andrew Peterson, Justin McRoberts, Bebo Norman, Shane Barnard, and Derek Webb. Koo's interests in music span far beyond the stage, having formed his own record label, Broken For Good Records, as well as experimenting with artist production. Koo's style could be characterized as acoustic rock with occasional shades of pop, blues, and country. Influences like Caedmon's Call, Bebo Norman, John Mayer, and Third Eye Blind have fostered Koo's distinct and very listenable sound.

"Commas Come First," Koo's first solo album, released in 2002, experienced wide internet success on distribution sites such as www.independentbands.com, where it remained on the best seller list for several months. Following in the wake of "Commas Come First," "While We Wait" dropped in the spring of 2004 on similar distribution sites, reaching the #2 seller spot at www.grassrootsmusic.com. Koo's career was also furthered touring with Jacob's Well, and additionally organizing his own solo tour, including artists Neah Lee and Minnow Park, both of whom are signed to Broken For Good Records.

Sonically, "While We Wait" is more experimental and quirky than "Commas Come First," which had numerous pop overtones. Produced by Mitch Dane and Koo, the record is edgy and acoustically unusual. As to be expected from Koo, the themes of the album rest in honest reflections about his walk with God and the struggles and joys that accompany it. His songs are filled with candor and address ideas of contentment and patience in God's plan, especially in the areas of friendship and love.
