Details:
Don't let the name fool you. Krammit is definitely a band to be taken seriously, but, as guitarist Jake Thiele says, "We don't want to take ourselves too seriously. Just because we're a metal band doesn't mean we can't have fun doing it."
Krammit was formed by Jake Thiele and Sean Nickrent in February 2002, and Kevin Dowler and Josh Spalding were soon added to the lineup. They began playing shows at local venues and developing a loyal fan base. After a while, they realized their sound was missing something, and keyboardist Jarred Eichorn was recruited, playing his first show with the band on 8/31/02. With their lineup complete, Krammit began writing more songs and developing their diverse sound, influenced by death, goth, and "nu" metal.
Finally in May of 2003 came the moment everyone was waiting for. Krammit went to Jupiter studios to record their first CD, "Desensitized," with engineer Jim Callahan. In August of 2003, Krammit headlined their CD release show at Pop's, which is arguably St. Louis' best indoor venue.
Immediately after leaving the studio, Krammit resumed their show schedule, playing with such noteworthy bands as Lacuna Coil, Dog Fashion Disco, and Broke. They have received radio play on St. Louis station 105.7 FM KPNT (the Point) as well as being featured on Audaphobia, a music TV show. The band is currently writing material for their second CD, which will be faster, louder, heavier, and even better than their first.
