SYD studied delectric and acoustic bass at Seoul Institute of The Arts.
In 1996,he continued his career in Seoul as a studio musician and a jazz artist.
Early on,he developed expertise in jazz,pop,R&B,funk and Latin stuff - a versatility that allows him to play with virtually anyone.
His reputation is for always being well prepared for his gigs.

His musical tastes caused him to explore all types of music as a player and a composer.

As a leader and a band member,he played and recorded album with many of very popular local jazz-fusion bands such as "Dasiy","Juice",'S.T.E.P.S","Gina","Jeon Jae Duck",...etc.


As a studio musicisn,SYD has played on coutless album with a veritable Who's Who of the Korean entertainment industry,including Lee Moon Sae,Lee So Ra,Danny Jung,
Shin Sung Hun,SG Wannabe,Finkl,Big Mama,Seven,ShinHwa,Jewelry,
Yoon Do Hyun, Bobby Kim (BoogaKings),Gina,MCMong,Lisa,JoePD,MayBee,Ivy,Seoung Si Kyung,
