Details:
One of the most prolific songwriters of our time, Karen Sokolof Javitch writes 13 new songs that we can't get out of our heads.
The title song, HIS NAME WAS FREEDOM, was written after the September 11th attacks and is closest to her heart.
"My way of dealing with that tragedy was to write a song about it.
I felt that freedom was at the core of what the terrorists want to take away from us - so that's why I wrote a story about 'freedom.' It is important to me not to make money off of this song, which is why a portion of these cd sales will be donated to the September 11th fund." Her group, KAREN AND FRIENDS consists of the lead singer, Cory Sanchez, whose voice has mesmerized many a woman, and three women singers, of which Karen is one.
The other two singers are Lisa Lind, who played the title role in Karen's musical, PRINCESS DIANA, THE MUSICAL, and Krissy Cole, who also sings with Mannheim Steamroller band conductor Chuck Penington, who also arranges all of Karen's music.
A special treat is track number 10 -I'M SORRY - which is sung by extremely talented identical triplets, Missy, Mandy and Erin Maynard. (In 2003 Maynards formed the group - TAKE THREE and produced a CD by that name!)
Look for their name in lights later on! Tune your ears to these classy songs and versatile voices, and you won't want to turn your CD off!
