This CD was birthed due to a death in my family my Mom. My mother died of a stroke two weeks before 9/11. I thought of memorializing her with a head stone, but a greater thought crystallized my mind. Why not create a lasting memory from sound and music, and so began the project "Alice Jus' Travelin". My mother was one who stood by me when I reached so low that I didn't see the need to continue living. She rejuvenated me, gave me back my confidence and the joy of living. When my wings finally grew back and I was able to fly, she decided to leave and travel on. This CD is meant to inspire everyone about the joy of life, and rejuvenation.
I played keyboards for several artists Johnnie Nash, Marcia Griffiths, and Reebop the percussionist with Traffic who died not to long ago. This CD is a kaleidoscope of smooth jazz and world music. Experience the mellow mood of "I love you Mom" or the funky feel of "Just striving" and if you want to be mesmerized and implode with rhythms, put on your dancing shoes and listen to African Trails. I can see clearly now the rain has gone. That's what Johnnie Nash sang so beautifully, I truly believe that. Listen to Alice Jus Travelin and you will truly go on a journey in sound and music.
