The Kingâs Court primarily features the music of Will Goldstein who writes, records, publishes, and distributes Christian cdâs and songbooks based on scripture and scriptural themes. The Kingâs Court is in licensing agreements with both ASCAP & CCLI (Christian Copyright Licensing International), and their database of church worship songs, Song Select. His Name Is Jesus can be reproduced in church services by ensembles, or church worship teams by using midi, sheet music and various editions published by The King's Court such as, 1) Vocal Harmony, 2) Piano/Vocal, 3) Instrumental Parts, 4) Percussion Parts and 5) Director's Score. The Kingâs Court also hosts an online directory of worldwide Christian Artists and Bands through The Christian Artists Network.
Below are 3 reviews of His Name Is Jesus CD.
1) âHis Name is Jesusâ is just one piece of a vast resource of music and songbooks that are dedicated at presenting the Gospel in a pure musical form. The music is soft and understated, leaving most of the focus on the words. There is however a wide variety of instrumentation on the CD including Flute, Cello, Harp, Organ, Glockenspiel, and various other string and wind instruments. Vocally the project is quite traditional in two and three part harmonies. Overall this combination makes for a presentation that is excellent for devotions or meditations. Alpha Omega News Kenneth Wiegman
2) The Kingâs Court is a contemporary Christian group, although they will never be confused with the pop Christian sounds of Jars Of Clay or Relient K. Instead, His Name Is Jesus sounds a lot like Christian music sounded in the years prior to when the hippies of the Jesus Movement started to let their voices be heard.
With formal performances, revealing ties to opera and classical influences, these singers and players give voice and instrument to Will Goldsteinâs praise and worship songs. There are few guitar solos, and listeners must strain to hear this disc's rare drum parts. Instead, there are cellos, trombones, classical guitars and other such classical elements. âI Exalt You, Lordâ stands out for its sweet mandolin strums. But even though this disc also incorporates string banjo, nothing on it is anything like country music.
Lyrically, none of these compositions will sound out of place in a church service -- and not just the relaxed approach that some churches only allow during Sunday nights. This is safely Sunday morning stuff.
With the contemporary churchâs widening embrace of spiritual rock music, The Kingâs Court actually sounds radical to modern ears in comparison. Itâs retro worship music all right, but itâs excellent. Dan MacIntosh Indie-Music
3) Warmly produced by songwriter, Will Goldstein in California, thereâs no new-fangled, trendy material here. Rather, it is clear, direct, and honest, packaged musically in semi-classical, easy-on-the-ear innovation. So if you like your worship choruses gentle, dignified and reverent, you won't find it comes more appealing than this set-up for vocalists and musicians. It is obvious that this inspirational album has been a labour-of-love. It is highly engaging in content for quiet worshippers on platform and pew. Modestly packaged, this album wonât jump out at you in the racks but it deserves exposure. I would highlight it as an album worth searching out for participation songs as well as performance songs. This is conservative material that deserves to be cherished more than it is in this âhipâ generation. Where Christian music is concerned, this is the traditional seed-bed of praise music of generations past and present. Several notable songs are herewith given dignified interpretations and contribute well to the on-going modern chorus-hymnody heritage. Author Paul Davis
