Ladeda is a Vermont-based acoustic quartet that mostly performs its own music but also does interesting covers. Its main members, John Laware, Kevin Forrest and Vickie Allen (the fourth member varies according to instrumental needs) are heavily influenced by 1960s and 1970s music, yet blend a modern sensibility with their original tunes. The result is a style that appeals to many musical tastes. You'll hear traces of Beatlesque harmonies and chords, country twang and even a touch of blues in their tunes. Since members are all Vermont natives, the music has a Green Mountain taste to it--stubborn, independent yet tolerant and open and new ideas.
