Paper Owls, like many other bands, has a very long and pretty strange story. However, we will not be telling you all of it. Letâs just fast-forward through all the boring stuff...

Paper Owls has been in the works for nearly 4 years. April Twist and Cricket Kirk first began creating music together while living in Austin, TX. After many encounters and much frustration with flaky, rotating bandmates, they decided to try their luck elsewhere... and relocated to
Omaha. Not long after arriving in Omaha, they decided that making a self-produced, home-recording was the next step. The full-length CD,
titled A Collection of Songs, was released in January 2006 in hopes of finding other musicians to collaborate with. Six months later, Jason
Larson began playing drums, and not long after that, Adam Jeffrey made his way into the mix on guitar.

Fast forward to spring 2007...

Paper Owls is now a three-piece, with the line-up being April Twist on vocals, keyboards, and guitar, Cricket Kirk on bass and synths, and
Adam Jeffrey now on drums. Their sound is quite unique, being described as anywhere from haunted folk to ambient rock to progressive
pop. If you ask them, their influences range from Radiohead to Cat Stevens, and everything in between.
