WELL..... I was asked to do this:
Ok, it all started some time ago when my mother and my father both met and found a way to get alone and then I was produced - a bouncing baby boy with talent.


I grew up in a house full of music, my grandmother sang, my grandfather played the piano like a man possessed, and my mother, bless her heart played the french horn and the saxophone. My father, I later found out, played the guitar and sang his life away, singing to the ladies, I hear he was a true pimp, but hey, that's beside the point.


For years, I watched and studied the hand and finger movements of my grandfather, waiting to later try out the skills that I learned. I spent many nights alone at the piano, touching and testing every key till I got his melodies right. Through this process, I learned to play by ear.


At first, I thought I was going to be able to sing to the world, and give my soul through the vocal talents inherited from my grandmother's side of the family, but after puberty hit (and the testosterone made my voice deeper) that dream had to be put on the back burner.


So I decided, (after hearing Eric B. for President for the first time), that rap was the way to go. I loved how, with words, they were able to paint such a picture that my mind would be completely lost in the song, picturing I was the one reciting the words. I was hooked.


Around the time Big Daddy Kane hit the world with R.A.W, I was buying my first turntable, I got the money winning the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. ..I have a Dream.. Poetry contest at age 12. The second one came from a good friend of mine, Kelvin. He also taught me how to scratch, and got me interested in doing tricks. I even entered a couple of DJ competitions (you had to see the guys who won, they were crazy).


I became the DJ for various local groups, providing the beats while they would rhyme. Even had a little mix CD (tape) thing going at the time, before there was such things as a mix CD. We would rock over any instrumentals, Chubb Rock, caught up, Salt-N-Pepa, Push it, just to name a few. These were our beats and our means to make the party rock.

I started DJaying parties throughout the neighborhood the same year I got the turn tables, loving the music and how it made the people react and move across the floor. I wanted to be able to play my music and have them do the same. -so at 13, I started my Demo tape (remember tapes???) with a producer friend of the family, Gregory Wooten. He showed me how to sample, arrange and record music, I..ll never forget that. (Pepsi and Sofie, I'll never forget those days working in 300 Apt. 5B, never)


Age 14, I started High School and met up with Free and Sid V of Duo Live, Talib Kweli, Adrian and Cyriac, my partner in crime Odyssey the I.L.L.K.I.D, Lord Cyra Unique, MC Mecabee, Sniper of S.W.A.T and a few others. Free gave me the name Whisky the first week of school, and from there it was a wrap, the person who stands before you now was born.


I started to perfect my rhyming skills while battling at the lunch table. We even used to have the deans and security guards standing around clapping and cheering for the best or worst comments that could have come out the mouth of teenagers. A couple of fights even broke out (some people just couldn't take losing).


By this time, I hooked up with Mc. Barry the promo king. He helped produced my first full length demo, and he inspired me to work harder on production (Pyshco man will always live for me), and my mix tapes. He was killing the blends and mixes more so than any other DJ besides Kid Capri - he was that nice.


Well, after playing Spliff star to his Busta, I got up with my partner (Mr. MAHA) and his group Urban Poetics and became their DJ full time, and I got a chance to help on the production for their album. Imagine going from house studios to places such as Fire House, during the time that Das Efx was recording their hit album ..Straight from the Sewer.., this is where we worked.


After the group broke up, me and MAHA stayed friends and decided to work on my album - but that got put on hold, so that we could concentrate our efforts on another project that included Dam of Street Stalkas fame, and The Real Pearl Gates of the TOP Villianz, and Lord Cyra Unique at the time associated with a Group called The Difference. This project gave us more production and song creation experience and had gotten us a place on the Brooklyn Beat Rockers Compilation Album (Nuff love to Reggie of Trumystic Sound System and Ish Allen of Midi Mania studios).


I then focused all of my energy on production, studying with such musicians as the great Shariyah Levi aka Fab of Planet Earth Productions. This guy let me live in his living room for like three to four years - teaching me his brand of off the wall production and arrangement. He's the only guy I ever met that made a six to seven minute long beat that was made from the same instruments and drum sounds but changed drastically every 30 to 40 seconds. The beat was and still is the hardest thing I've ever heard. He even did this beat where he sampled himself playing the flute. I'm going to use that track for my album. It's still another hard joint that I've never heard anything like it.


With production under my belt, and the written word confirmed in my heart, we, at BnB Music Productions, (which at the time was called Murder Mind Productions) was banging out hit instrumentals at the drop of a dime - building our music catalogue, and collecting artist and contacts throughout the various stages of the music industry.


Concentrating our efforts on The Top Villainz, which included The Real Pearl Gates, Anthogotto the Great and Bishop Christ the Enforcer, we produced a masterpiece called The Marty Clay Mix CD Vol. I. This became a hit and must album throughout the streets of Brooklyn. We took this on the road and ended up in Virginia and got it into stores out there.


We finally realized our dreams and built our preproduction studio in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn, and then upgraded to full production and recording, adding a few computers to the mix. We started working with a lot of other artists at various stages of the game with different styles of music and decided to put all of this together and put out an album called "Welcome to Our World." It was a labor of love, hard labor but a labor of love no doubt.


This album has allowed us to go places and meet people. It had even started to make a name for us and our production. This album had R&B Rap, Hip Hop, and even some New Wave, from our boy Craig Knight. Check this guy out - he's crazy with his, and is also my guitar teacher.


Well, after spending all of these years working on all the projects I've been involved with and the people I have worked with and all of the artists I helped develop, I'm now ready to let the world hear what I have to say and how I want to say it. I'm ready world, Are you? I think not, but I'm going to get you prepared before I drop the bomb. But once I'm finished preparing you, I'm going to let it loose and pray that you can take the heat from the fire. Get ready!
