Lemar was born in Cleveland Ohio and was no different from other young fellows,
except that he put his age up and entered the service at 15 years of age.
at the age of 16 he found himself overseas and far from home...

Lemar liked to write and guys in his outfit would ask him to write a letter home for them.. they would tell him special things about their loved ones back home and he would compose a letter for them to send home.When he was 17 he wanted to write a letter... just one special letter that would express the feelings and longings of men and women,past and present who find themselves in a far distance land away from home and their loved ones.
