Lemoncholy

Passionate would be the most apt description of Lemoncholy, and their new album release " Loud Liquid Pieces." Poised for excellence, the band offers emotionally driven, insightful, and occasionally whimsical reflections of pop culture and all of it's inherent paradoxes. Disenchanted with the endless stream of self-absorbed gibberish foisted upon the eardrums of mainstream listeners, Lemoncholy presents an unabashed look at modern thought and it's subversive effect on art, relationships, and well being.
However, Lemoncholy does chew on the staple food of rock music: love, both fulfilled and unrequited, but never shies away from alternative food groups for their lyrical diet. Moody tones, and emotive crescendos mark the music providing the well thought out backdrop for the band's honest, revealing lyrics.
Formerly known as Ulysses, Lemoncholy has been making waves in Nashville TN this previous year including a live in-the-studio radio show on Nashville's WPLN Public radio and 2 very favorable reviews in the Tennessean and The Nashville Scene.

Ryan Murphey, one of the two founding members of this unusual band, has roots in both country and jazz, but shares a passion for modern rock. In addition to providing lyrical insight and witticism, Ryan chisels away at Lemoncholy's unique harmonic textures via his cherished assortment of colorful guitars.

Eric Quiram, also sharing a love for jazz and modern rock, brings pop sensibility and insatiable curiosity to the group. A Yankee pianist from Baltimore, Maryland, Eric stubbornly holds onto to long forgotten notion that good songs are what people really want despite the steely machinations of the music industry.

Mike Majett adds texture and mood effecting Lemoncholy's sound with a funk, rock, punk and jazz backround comprising his magic bottom end. (we're referring to his bass playing you Cretin!) Mike discovered his affinity for bass in college and then relocated to Nashville in 98.

Mike Hagerty, Lemoncholy's 4th crucial member, is most at home constructing the rhythmic framework for the band with a unique combination of taste, pinache, and pocket (the essential implement in any drummers tool-kit). Originally from California, Mike now lives in Nashville pursuing beat making as his passion.
