Roox Biography

Roox (Lionel Bennett 28), arguably Toronto's most anticipated artist, hailing from the ever so musically talented area of Don Mills (Parkway Forest). This former high school basketball phenom who like a lot of artist already in the industry (Cam'ron, Mase, etc.) had his Hoop dreams deflate his senior year of high school.

He then realized his dreams of turning pro were finished, but didn't want his years of practice and hard work go unnoticed so he quickly started a label with the help of his younger cousin taped and documented 1 years worth of Street ball highlights and Toronto urban life in general (2002), mixed everything up then released Toronto's first ever urban vhs/dvd (first 200 units on vhs, feb/07/03).

After smashing the streets with his VHS/DVD in 2003 he later got his hands wet in the music industry by managing a Toronto rap group for about 1 year, during the process he quickly absorbed how to not only properly write songs but how to be a good song maker rather than just a "rapper".

Now with a DVD based on his come-up 3 classic Toronto mix tape cd's and his C.E.O role at STR8 BALLN/Soul Kiss/Universal, Roox is extremely focused on supplying his very rapidly growing fan base with the quality music that he is only used to listening to
As a very big fan of hip-hop.
