There are a lot of things I could tell you about us, but it would take a book. I am the mother of two ( Dawn and Colessie ), a grandmother of eight ( Phillip, Samone, Willie, Jerell, Christopher, Jesse, Timrick,and Atyona ). â You never know what you can do until you tryâ, I am one to say this is true. We are members of the SGI-USA ( Nichiren Buddhism ). The children are in our elementary group. I was reading the World Tribune ( our SGI-USA newspaper ) where the youth division was making a mix tape of inspirational songs. They were asking : âDo you believe music has the power to inspire hope and change?â If any one wanted to help send in a CD, all music was welcome. . So I got with the kids and asked them if they wanted to make a CD that we could send in. Everyone said yes, lets do this. But as time went on we only had three that stayed with it (Phillip, Christopher and Atyona ). Phillip is 16, the oldest of my grandsons, loves rapping ,playing video games and all sports. Chris. is 11, the baby grandson from (Colessie), loves to rap, playing with friends and playing in the school band. Atyona is 6, love singing , riding her bike and going to school. These are the three that make up Children of One Voice.

We had two weeks to get our CD together, so I wrote a rap for the kids (â For Love, Peace and Happinessâ). At the time I didnât know ,but one man that could do the music. So I called him and later we went to see him. The first week our music person was painting his house, but he did find time to make a practice CD.The next week it was one thing after the other. It rain two days before the CD had to be sent in. His basement was filled with water ,this is where we had to record. Well, he didnât make the CD.

I never give up, I knew with my chanting something good was going to happen.We had two days to make a CD. It just so happen a friend of ours was at Dawnâs ( my daughter ) wedding. He has a few CDs out hemself, so I told him what we were trying to do. He got on the phone, called the young man that did his music, the next day we had a CD.

We didnât make the SGI - USA mixtape, but the CD has become well loved by family, friends and others. The kids preformed at a SGI-USA meeting, everyone was so happy, dancing, singing and crying tears of joy. So I feel by letting the world hear this CD ( For Love, Peace and Happiness ) it will give you the happiness and peace of mine that it has given us.
