Details:
Lex & The Hood...A Band For All Seasons

Lex & The Hood are a couple of irrepressible boomer boys who have been playing music together since the early 1980s. Their first brush with stardust came in 1986 when "Do The Halley's Comet" - written and sung by Lex and produced by The Hood - received airplay nationwide and was featured (along with its dance) on the then-popular Joe Franklin TV Show. But as luck would have it, the comet fizzled and so did their record.

The duo went on to record a couple of albums as part of the Lex Ventura Band during the latter part of the decade. While one of the songs from that era - "Surfers From Space" - was something of a cult classic amongst astronophile slackers, their output was not enough to liberate them from their day jobs. Lex Ventura pursued a career in communications while secretly humming new song ideas in the stalls of various corporate mens' rooms. The Hood continued to play music with a number of other bands including Empty Suits, Raw Edge and Dirty Water Dogs while working in telecom sales.

Conventional married life was the focus for both of the boys for several years. But after dutifully changing diapers and preparing oatmeal for their emerging families, they got the hankering to get back to making music together. The advent of online music provided the perfect opportunity for their talents. In 1999, they produced and offered "Dotcom Christmas" which became an instant holiday hit that rose to the top ten charts at mp3.com.

That was followed up in 2000 with "Santa's On A Scooter" which also rose to the top 10 charts on mp3.com. Fueled with their success Lox & The Hood next tackled St Patrick's Day with "We're All Irish" for the corn beef and cabbage crowd. The other holiday tunes quickly followed and became the compiled CD "A Band For All Seasons." More songs and information can be found online at www.mp3.com/lexthehood.
