Details:
Alberto Mendoza, otherwise known as MC Ceja, was born on February 15, 1978 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. He was raised both in Brooklyn and Puerto Rico alongside his younger brother and sister.

Ceja started in the music business at around age 13 in talent shows and local town parties. At a young age, he was already able to compose songs to make fun of his teachers and fellow classmates. He was able to breakthrough the genre after meeting reggaeton producer, DJ Eric, over the telephone. Ceja played one of his songs for Eric and what happened next was only the beginning for the new Puerto Rican hip hop king. Ceja released his first song âDame ese Bluntâ, back in the day when recordings were made on underground cassettes. Ceja was then able to appear in productions such as âHip Hop Reggae Mix,â âStreet Style 1â, âStreet Styel 2â, and âDj Eric Industry Vol. 1-5.â After the release of âDJ Eric Industry 3â, in 1997, Ceja launched his first album as a soloist called âLuz Solar,â selling over fifty thousand copies, which is more than great for a Latin rapper at the time. His hit single âConfusionâ was part of this production and was number 1 in the charts for at least 10 weeks.

In his collaborations with DJ Eric, MC Ceja meets Lito and Polaco, and later on in their careers they form the group known as âLos Tres Mosqueteros.â At the time Lito, Polaco and Ceja worked together for DJ Ericâs âIndustry 4â, a lyrical war started between them and another notorious reggaeton group, The Noise, which at the time had artists such as Baby Rasta, Gringo and Bebe. In 1998, before the release of âLos Mosqueteros,â Ceja was able to produce another album as a soloist named âTodo ha cambiadoâ, with another hit single âTe Invito al Partyâ. Soon thereafter, the group split and they started a war among themselves.

In 2001, he kept working with DJ Eric on his third album, âBoricua State of Mind,â with the single featuring Wisin and Yandel, âDesnudateâ. He also collaborated with Pina Records, for âLa Conspiracion Vol. 1â, âThe Companyâ and âLa Conspiracion Vol 2,â with hits such as âYeah Yeahâ and âDile a El.â Ceja also came out strong with his rough hip hop lyrics in Daddy Yankeeâs âEl Cartel Vol. 2.â Ceja also appeared in various artist compilations such as âMajestic,â âLa Mision 1 â 3,â âDJ Frank: Time to Kill,â âDa Cream,â âWarriors 2,â âWise Da Gansta,â âDream Team,â and âSopranos.â

His most recent collaborations include featurings with Cuban Link in âBuddhaâs Family: Desde la Prision.â Ceja appeared in this production with three songs, among them his single, âMr. Conflictoâ and demonstrated once again that he is the king of microphone.

In 2008, he appeared in Daddy Yankee's "Somos de Calle Remix" song and video. His presence was also felt in Free Tempo Cosen Few 3 Remix. He recently recorded with past rivals Baby Rasta and Gringo for the "Hablaron de Mi Remix," and also recorded with artists like, Divino, Mexicano, Guelo Star, Voltio, Chino Nyno and others.

Ceja is currently promoting his fourth solo album "Luz Solar 2" which is in stores now, released by his company Get Low Records, in association with DTA Productions. With the best in rap, hip-hop, reggaeton, and dirty south. It is packed with bold lyrics that compliment Cejaâs bilingual flow and stamina.
