Murphy's Law is a dynamic group led by Melbourne bassist Tamara Murphy. Murphy's Law was formed in August 2002, and features the awesome lineup of Julien Wilson (sax), Shannon Barnett (trombone), Nashua Lee (guitar), Joe Talia (drums) and Tamara Murphy (double bass, bandleader).

Murphy's Law boasts an original repertoire, and this project features new compositions inspired by popular and electronic music, experimenting with new song forms and different stylistic directions as well as featuring a few select covers. This group has a collectively produced sound with an identity unique to the Melbourne jazz scene and this second album by the band is long awaited.

Murphy's Law has performed at many festivals around Australia, in addition to performing regularly around Melbourne. In 2004, Murphyâs Law recorded and released their debut CD âTelling Talesâ (Newmarket), funded through a Vic Arts Grant and in 2008 the group also released the project âStreet Artâ, in conjunction with turntablist âJumpsâ from The Cat Empire and string quartet.
