Louis Bernstone's interest in music was kick-started by 2 things: the energetic guitar music of New Zealand (where he lived until he was 21 years old), and the clinical but innovative synthesizer based pop music of the '80s New Wave movement. Being a big fan of New Order, Duran Duran, and seminal New Zealand rockers The Dudes, made for a style difficult to pigeon hole. But what does come through is the breadth of this influence in the variety of music on offer on his first CD release. From synthesizer and sequencer based trance music in Clearly and Sunrise to the guitar edged, but pop sensibility of Stroke and the dynamic of True, this album offers a track for every mood. Real and Big Country Dream represent the fusion of the early influences, and Louis' early years spent touring New Zealand in a synth pop band. Morning is most definitely a nod in the direction of 80s dance music epitomied by the Pet Shop Boys, with the Cello based Helium a celebration of New Zealand and family.

Louis is a New Zealand born artist originally from Lower Hutt. While in Wellington he gigged with the band Sara and did some time in the Victoria University Music Department.
