Drawing on the sounds of pre-war rural America, Jawbone Railroad is a personal attack on the forces that would slick-up and corporate-ize acoustic music. Driven by the string-busting guitar and banjo work of Blaise Arsenault, the relentless bass anchor of Suzanne Ford, the swamp-molasses fiddling and washboarding of Chelle Terwilliger, and the rustic mandolin musings and "what-the?!" banjo-uke whacking of Walt Burns, this cd was recorded live in a studio in a single afternoon. No overdubs. Very few retakes. No fussing. It comes close to capturing the authentic energy you may have witnessed at a Jawbone Railroad show. Of course, to recreate that accurately beer should be close at hand.
