LODE is a heavy eclectic power groove quintet. The band, although recently formed, is comprised entirely of seasoned musicians. Vocalist, D. Ames (former O.C.D.) met guitarist Butch (former Dogheader) through the trades when he was looking to put together a new band after he left his previous group. Butch who was in the same position shared D. Ames' love of heavy powerful music and the bond was formed. After playing with several different drummers Butch decided to give Dai (former Dogheader), his old friend, band mate and drummer, a call. They asked him if he would be interested in joining the project and lucky for them he was! Three quarters formed, LODE began searching for the final piece of the band puzzle. Little did they know that they were only three fifths of the way home. One day while setting up for rehearsal two turntables were conspicuously set up in the room. When asked, Butch said he invited his friend DJ Tomu to sit in on their reheasrsal with them. ! Having never played in a band with a DJ and not being a huge fan of bands that did, with some trepidation, began to play. Then a strange thing happened!!!! It worked. For some reason Tomu fit right in with the band and their new sound was being forged. Now one hurdle left. To round out the rhythm section they had to find a bass player. This final piece of the puzzle was to be found in a young and talented bass player named Yoshi! Yoshi was playing in another band when he came down as a favor to the guys to jam with them. His situation quickly changed when the rehearsal went so well that within a week he quit his old band and became a full time member of LODE. Now with all the musicians in place, and all the songs tight it's time to hit the road! See ya' out there!
