Johnny $lim is a Bay area producer that started off with artist such as Too $hort, Spice 1,Rappin 4tay back in the late 80's,back then I was doin alot of rappin but always wanted to get in to producing.I moved to West Oakland Ca. in 1985 on Myrtle St.,thats where I met Too $hort.Around that time thier was a nother rap artist that got me started by the name of NaRu aka Quick Draw at Bay Wave Records.I started doin alot of rap sessions with this dude and his group making demo tapes back to back.My first demo tape I recorded was a song called Tom and Jerry about 2 dope dealers.Too $hort stayed right a cross the street from me,he had heard my demo so I'd say about a few months after he let me open up for him at the turf club.Thats where I got my foot in the door,sence the 80's rap music been my thang.I've worked with rappers such as Krushadelic,once again back in the late 80's me and krushadelic were in the same group called the Westside posse.we use to do shows such as the Al Ballard Bong show,Uhuru house,Festivals at the lake.Now days I've been doin alot of producing and finally got the chance to put together my own solo cd's Game over hate and Put's it on thick working through cdbaby.
