Funky Acoustic Rock molded from the drippings of several genres to create an unforgettable sound.

11 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Acoustic, ROCK: Funk Rock

Details:
Many bands claim to mix genres effectively. Hardly any do. Lower Level is a rare exception. With its second album, "Door Open," it has created something both creative and catchy. Mixing folk, funk and plain old alternative, this Texas band entertains throughout by always keeping the listener guessing what the next song will sound like. - The Daily Beacon University of TN Knoxville

Meet the band:
JJ Usher - The lyrical journeyman and acoustic tickler grew up in Katy, TX and moved to NASHVILLE, attending Belmont University. He played solo acoustic gigs all over Nashville before returning to Texas to form the band, LOWER LEVEL.

Ryan "G-Vine" Sirna - This cool Italian, dropping beats with the most intricate of original styles comes from San Marcos, TX. He graduated from Southwest Texas where he taught Drum Line and private lessons. He has won several national competitions for his talent with the sticks and skins, most recently leading his team to 4th place in the national PASIC indoor drum line competition.

Chris York - The "Soul Brotha," bringing a Bootsy Collins kind of funk to LOWER LEVEL, has been pounding on the bass for longer than anyone can remember. Growing up in Austin, TX, he has been a part of the music scene on Sixth Street his entire life.

A few critics have been quoted as follows:

"...funky acoustic rock molded from the drippings of several genres to create an unforgettable sound."
- Rolling Stone Magazine

"...they have easily captured the college market and created a base for a building of endless success that none can tear down."
Lower Level voted "Best Band in Austin" for 2003
Study Breaks Magazine (Austin, TX)

"This trio of Southern gentlemen is easy on the ears and eyes, so pop stardom can't be too far off...The band has also been blowing locals away in venues through the South, opening for everyone from Flickerstick (the VH1 band) and Coolio (!)."
