tambersauro came into being in november of 2003, uniting miracle versus man drummer lance higdon and music men guitarist mike blackshear through bassist jeff price and their common collaborator. after sporadic practices during the following winter months, they began writing in earnest in the sultry garage of the infamous carlford house, recombing the brutal/bizzare calculus of miracle with the more poignant and melancoly tendencies of the music men. after abandoning their initial desire to remain nameless, they adopted the name "tambersauro," a phonetic spelling of mike and jeff's unrealized guitar project "timbre sorrow." driven by houston's oppressive heat and their weekly trips to el rey taqueria, tambersauro produced their first recorded offering, "via the same methods," which was released in november of 2004.

after making their live debut on november 19th, 2004, the band began working on the material that would eventually comprise their first cd, "box equals box," which was released over one year later in februrary of 2006. the songs revealed a closer marriage of the prog and psychedelic elements of tambersauro's sound, in addition to touches of mid-90s emo, dance-punk, jazz and latin american music, courtesy of the percussive talents of scott ritter. the plus one year interim also saw tambersauro play a spate of shows across texas with the likes of gospel, anathallo and unwed sailor. this period also saw ritter sporadically joining the band on percussion for live dates, although his duties to the rights of texas mineral owners kept him from fuller participation in the life of the road.

another memorable gig of that year was a show with experimental hardcore band the blue letter. after making a profound connection both musically and personally with the lads from california, tambersauro undertook the unprecedented task of writing and recording their first track to be released on vinyl. the result, a beautifully packaged and designed orange-and-white marbled 10" was released in february of 2007, with each side featuring an 11-minute plus track from both bands respectively. tambersauro's contribution, "one picture frame and one half of a picture," marked a musical watershed for the band, as they pushed the compositional complexity and emotional impact of their music to new heights, incorporating more elements of noise into their sonic gumbo. the band continued to play out, including trips to denton and ft. worth and a live peformance on austin radio station kvrx. the summer of 2007 saw tambersauro embark on their first out of state tour across the midwest with memorable shows in nine states in nine days. at present, tambersauro is awaiting the release of their second studio album and first official full-length on september 2nd, 2008 entitled "theories of delusional origin."
