There's this guy I heard about a while back, my girlfriends talked about him but they didn't know his name. They'd heard him sing and they said he had a low sultry voice and he moved like a jackhammer from hell. He'd grip the microphone like it was his only anchor to this world, his eyes focused off in the distance. Well, soon afterwards my friends and I were at a cafe in Pasadena and there he was, like a lost child, but this time reading some of his poetry. His body shook with words that were all his own... "As my heart races, throbbing, almost to burst in the rush of torrential fury that whips through the corridors and grips, binds, rends, and ultimately tears at the very fabric of all reality and shatters the soul until nothing is left but the shallow fragments of a man,..." Some fragments there, guy! I walked on over and we talked, and he thanked me for my interest in his poems, gave me his reading copies of his poems for that night.
