The sweet, syrupy, powerful vocals of Lexi Lawsuit (often compared to Siouxsie Sioux), combined with the catchy yet haunting guitar melodies, spooky keyboards, and the steady throbbing rhythmic percussion: The Rabies...it's horror pop cabaret that packs a punch.
Hailing from the underbelly of Buffalo NY, The Rabies emerged in 2003 and acquired a faithful following, all claiming to have been "infected" by the new buzz. With their concoction of punk, new wave, goth, and in-you-face rock-n-roll, The Rabies aren't here for a campfire sing along...they are here to wake the dead!
The energy they raise in every live performance leaves the audience gasping for more. Vocalist Lexi Lawsuit sings, wails, croons, shrieks and squeals. The guitars deliver powerful, raunchy riffs, along with memorable keyboard stylings and fierce drum measures. Their music and performances are reminiscent of horror movies and old cabaret vaudeville with a B-movie twist...creepy yet fun.
Since they materialized on the scene, The Rabies have toured the US extensively, and have shared the stage with such bands as The Buzzcocks, The Dickies, Wilco, The Saints, The Adicts, The Murder Junkies, The Koffin Kats, Trashlight Vision, The Voodoo Glow Skulls, DOA, The Gore Gore Girls, Slaughter and the Dogs, Billy Talent, and more. They also joined 45 Grave for two tours in 2006.
The Rabies have worked directly with Robby Takac of the Goo Goo Dolls and his "Music is Art" organization, played on the Warped Tour in 2005, and are currently endorsed by Coffin Case, Trash Queen Clothing, and Hot Picks.
No matter how much you dare to resist, they will infect you...The Rabies are contagious!
