EASY LISTENING: Background Music, WORLD: Celtic
Details:
Eighteen-year-old, Lori Lynne Walker, grew up in a rural area of the Central Valley in California. Surrounded by nature and beautiful sounds, it was only logical that her harp songs would reflect her love of these things. She has been playing the harp for about 5 years. She was influenced by the annual trip taken by her mother, sister, aunt and cousin to the Nutcracker Suite ballet.
As part of that trip, she was always joined by her Grand Auntie Claire who treated them all to a most luxurious luncheon in San Francisco, complete with harpist. From this close-up experience with the melodies of the harp and the beauty of the graceful musician, Lori fell in love, at the early age of 6, with the sounds and ambience created by the harp. Each of Lori's original compositions has a background story, which Lori readily shares with anyone who may be interested! "The songs just flow to my fingers; sometimes the idea is first, sometimes just a great sound becomes a particular idea." She has been greatly influenced by the Celtic music by which she learned to play the folkharp and also by classical music which so readily lends itself to the harp. Lori has played at garden parties, church functions, for weddings and at the world-famous St. Mary's Cathedral in San Francisco for the 9/11 Memorial program there. She has continued to amaze and entertain people of all ages with her joy of the music she makes and her desire to share it with others.
