Leon Roberson Jr. aka LRJ started in the music industry in 1997. LRJ attended the Art Institute of Houston where he studied Video Production, camera operation, audio engineering, micing techniques, offline/online editing, script writing, and lighting design. He graduated from the Art Institute in June of 1999.
In 1999, LRJ had a debut single entitled Mentally Gentally Help Me Lord. The single was available in retail stores through limited release and sold out. LRJ performed the song at several venues in the Houston area. In June of 2000, he released T-E-X-A-S, which received local airplay plus many requests. Several labels approached LRJ, including Houston-based Rap A Lot Records; but after a careful process of elimination, he inked a deal with Cinque Entertainment, Inc.
In 2002, LRJ began to record several selections for his debut album entitled, "Not of This World" which is available through many online music websites and retail stores. Currently, he has hits out like What We Do, It's All Lovelee, and the club banger Hard N Da Paint that is receiving airplay on national and college radio. LRJ has performed many shows to date. He always blows up the spot and is asked to return. Check out the calendar for more of LRJ's upcoming performances!
