The Luxury Kings offer Atlanta's blues/roots music fans an intriguing combination of classics and unique original music.

The band has years of playing experience derived from the individual histories of the members, who have played regularly with one another in a variety of contexts for the past ten years. Jason Pastras (gtr/vocals) elaborates:" It was very important to me to start to channel my musical efforts into one project that was based in my favorite music, blues music. I'd been doing a jump and jazz thing with Luke (Wampler, drums), and that was successful, but it was time for something new; blues, but with the potential to move through a lot of roots styles. So I asked Luke, and he wanted to do it, and Eric (Leland, bass) seemed like a natural choice. He's easily one of the most knowledgeable and best-sounding roots musicians in Atlanta.

But the Luxury Kings' sound goes far beyond being the blues and early-rock sounds of revivalists. In the more traditional, original numbers, left-turns abound. And the less traditional numbers have an unique voice while still harking back to the sounds of Memphis, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Chicago.

That doesn't mean a crowd leaves any show without hearing their favorites, though. The Luxury Kings have a several-hours-long catalog of classic blues numbers by a variety of The Greats. This band knows the music, and their picks tend to be songs many blues fans keep on mental "What I'd Like to Hear a Blues Band Do" wish lists.

The "Chico" EP showcases the best of what the Luxury Kings do live (it was recorded mostly live to analog tape!) and features four Jason Pastras originals, three Eric Leland originals and one written by the entire band just days before going into the studio.
