Details:
SUNDAY GIRL, a gritty yet refined power trio hailing from Western Massachusetts, was conceived in December 2002. Since then it's carved out a unique sound through a blend of classic influences and heart driven expression. The three members' experiences and personalities woven together produces a musical tapestry that blankets ones' ears with a prickly warmth, caused by its' coarse fabric which you always seem to want to pull tighter.
Noah Boinays' guitar and vocals are fueled by his brilliantly simplistic lyrics detailing his introspective outlook. His take on us, and who we are in this world, hook any heart or mind within listening distance. Scott Bartzsch lays down a strong bass line and bottom end while harmonizing with Noah, making the vocals almost seem to float above the heads of the audience angelically. Sam Altmans' backup vocals and beats fuel this trio with such concentrated force it is truly a sight to behold on stage. His beats are intricate and placed snuggly, yet unexpectedly, with such fury it pushes the music of SUNDAY GIRL into the realms of audible bliss.
SUNDAY GIRL began when the group BellaDonna, which Noah formed and recruited Sam into, had disbanded. Scott and Noah had played together before as teenagers in the "Yellow Bus" along with Noahs' older brother. They assembled and it seems the forces were in their favor. Within a year they had a repertoire of 15 well received songs and were beginning to play out regularly in the Western Massachusetts region. In their rehearsal space they self-recorded a demo and began distributing it at shows where they caught the attention and joined forces with "Rocksmith Productions" and "Forfrontier", a multimedia development company. From there SUNDAY GIRL headed into the studio and released a much anticipated CD which was featured on 97.7WBCR Radio based in Gt. Barrington Massachusetts. SUNDAY GIRL has played festivals and venues throughout the Berkshire County area including the Club Helsinki. Most recently they were the Albany regional winners of Jillian's Battle of the Bands 2005, and obtained semi finalist placement in the United Kindom Songwriting Contest 2005.
Judging by the attention the band has received so far they will surely continue to grow: just like a child, one moment you are watching them crawl and the next they're running out the door to take on the world...So keep your eyes on that SUNDAY GIRL.
