Details:
Born October 19, 1983 to Camero Johnson and Delzenia V. Hilton, Calen attended Longfields elementary school were he first showed an interest in acting and music. He acted in several plays and began playing the saxophone. When he graduated and moved on to middle school his musical and acting interests continued. While at Thurgood Marshall Middle School he played saxophone in the concert band, and became a member of the PG County youth orchestra. During Middle School he began acting professionally. After many auditions he landed his first professional role in June of 1997 as Buglar, Oprah Winfrey's son who ran away in the introduction of the motion picture "Beloved". His second break came in October 1997 when he landed a principle role on an episode titled "Sins of the Father" of the television series "Homicide: Life On the Street".

While continuing his acting on the side, Calen focused on his musical abilities during high school. A member of the Largo High School marching band, concert band, and stage band, he continued to play his saxophone as well as began to learn how to play the piano, compose music and write poetry. As his talents grew, so did his interest in gospel music. Using many inspirations from different genres of music, Calen developed his own unique style destined to make an impact on anyone that hears his original recordings. What started as a dream in 1996 became a 7-year journey for him and his desire to make a gospel CD with a combination of Hip-Hop and R&B that focuses on witnessing to the public about the gospel of Jesus the Christ. This came true in the form of GOD'S TIME, a CD guaranteed to attract the ear in an effort to inspire, encourage and uplift people, saved or unsaved. With the help of his father and manager, Camero Johnson, he continues to strive for his goal of one day making it in the music industry for the sole purpose of reaching out to many lives all over the world.

After earning his diploma in 2001, Calen earned a place in "Who's Who Among High School Students", plus a place in "The Dean's List", a form of "Who's Who" for college students, in 2002. The next year marked the birth of Thief in the Night 152 Productions, a music production company run by Calen and his manager/father, Camero Johnson. The company's mission is to spread God's presence through all styles of music--from classical to hip-hop and R&B to gospel--using traditional and urban elements.

Calen is an active member of Screen Actor's Guild (SAG), the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), Urban Gospel Alliance, TAXI, Dynamic Producer, and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). On May 15, 2005, he completed his education at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with a concentration in Composition. Along with pursuing his career goals, Calen is currently teaching Vocal/General Music at Concord Elementary School in Forestville, Maryland.
