Description:

(ID 438447)
Debut album from MKIO...A mix of melodic and distorted vocals, heavy guitar, and electronics that all groove together...Features members of Hate Dept and Pseudocipher.

6 MP3 Songs
METAL: Industrial Metal, METAL: Gothic Metal

Details:
Mankind is Obsolete began with founding members Natasha Cox (vocals, synth) and Jon Siren (drums). Jon relocated to Los Angeles from Columbus, Ohio and met Natasha from Texas while playing in Pseudocipher, a Hollywood-based electronic group. During that time Jon joined Hate Dept. as their keyboardist/drummer. The two decided to write music on their own while continuing their duties with Pseudocipher and Hate Dept.

By year's end, MKIO's groundwork had been laid and several songs were already in the final stages of recording, with Jon or Natasha playing every instrument on the tracks. It was at this point that new members were needed, so Jon and Natasha recruited Mark Nurre(guitar) and Jaime Roy (bass). The four rehearsed together several times and soon added a fifth member, Nathan Trowbridge (levels, keys, backing vocals, etc.).

Mankind is Obsolete has recently released the six song Metamorph EP and have been playing shows in the LA region. MP3's of the band's work have already attracted interest online, and those who are already familiar with the members' previous projects eagerly await the new release.
