Musician, songwriter, guitarist, poet, traveler, theologian, marketing manager, pizza delivery guy, carpenter, painter, proud papa of two mangy mutts, visionary, friend, drycleaner, copy machine salesman, wordsmith, booking agent, bartender, ski-bum, model, sporting goods salesman, waiter, comedian, tour manager, boat mechanic, entertainer, and in December of 2001 he became one of the few people in the world who can honestly say that they walked across America.

Matt Vrba has racked up more life experience than most of us ever will, and he happens to be one of the few who can put that life into music. Born in a small suburb outside Chicago, Matt's early musical influences ranged from The Beatles, to the blues. Throughout his childhood he played piano, trombone, saxophone, and finally at age 13 he picked up the guitar. Matt left Chicago shortly after high school and immediately his affinity for the road presented itself. During his travels he began experimenting with writing music. After five years, dozens of songs, and a few hundred thousand miles, Matt landed in California.

His debut album "Everywhere In Between" (released in June of 2004) is an extroverted and melodically undeniable look into love, life, family and humankind and represents the finest cross-section of the 100 plus songs Matt has written. Many of the songs on the album were written during, or inspired by his long walk, and they truly illuminate the vision and simple brilliance of this old soul who is sure to be a fixture in the music world for a long time. For this album, Matt, and producer Adam Berkowitz, were able to line up a group of distinguished musicians (who also act as his back-up band) including; Danny Eisenberg(Counting Crows and Ryan Adams), Adam Berkowitz(Noelle Hampton and Wake), Eric Schramm(Superdiamond), Mike Godwin(Heather Combs and The Doobie Brothers), and Austin DeLone(Elvis Costello and The Fabulous Thunderbirds.

Since the release of his album, the name Matt Vrba has been on the tip of everyone's tongue in the Bay Area. This engaging and energetic performer has been winning over audiences across the nation as he plays out relentlessly, winning fans over one by one. While he has been compared to artists like Jack Johnson, and Ryan Adams, Vrba definitely posses a style all his own. Solo, or with his all-star band, he has left audiences everywhere wanting more. In September, "Everywhere in Between" made CD Baby's top 100. In October, Matt was selected by a panel of record execs to play a showcase spot at the prestigious Durango Songwriters Expo, where his performance was met with rave reviews from the music world's top guns. This December he will be hitting the road (again!), and undoubtedly making fans out of all those along the way.
