Details:
Hailing from Westchester, New York, Mad Machinery was originally a one-man operation. Dino Covelli started using the name while taking a recording class in college. Covelli put together a compilation of his works and dubbed it Dino Covelli's Mad Machinery.

A buzz began on the internet when a song from the album, an homage to Type O Negative, was traded on Napster and caused confusion among Type O's fans as to the artist's origin. "Possession," originally a Sarah McLachlan song, was a favorite of Covelli's as he chose to cover it in the style of Type O.

But the album gained the most attention when the demo for "Chasing Your Tail" aired on Homegrown, a Cape Cod-area rock radio program featuring unsigned artists. Homegrown has aided the careers of Godsmack and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, among others. The show's founder and host, Suzanne "Rockbabe" Tonaire, gave Mad Machinery their highest praise in the summer of 1999. Getting flooded with requests, Rockbabe opened the show with a weekly dose of "Chasing Your Tail." Covelli was invited to perform the song live on the air.

Covelli set out in a more serious direction with a great concept; make a professional sounding album on his own to remind the industry that good music is not about money. He teamed up with fellow Oneonta alumni Edward Roddy and the two began writing and recording. Four years in Dino's basement studio has produced their first commercial release titled, Reconnecting.

It is true, Mad Machinery is a self-contained unit: Writing, arranging, performing, engineering, producing, mixing, and mastering all on their own.

Mad Machinery's roots dig deep into 70's progressive and classic rock and head through the grunge of the 90's with a wide variety of influences including Led Zeppelin, Peter Gabriel, Faith No More, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice In Chains, Tool, Radiohead, Type O Negative, A Perfect Circle, and Nine Inch Nails.

Covelli continues to do session work for various artists including The Rosenbergs, Brooke Hogan, Amanda Latona, and others. Catch him in The Rosenbergs video for "After All" directed by Anna Gabriel and Adria Petty.

Mad Machinery is currently a five-piece band promoting their new album, Reconnecting, in the New York City area. The band currently consists of Dino Covelli (vocals, guitars), Ed Roddy (vocals, bass), Dan Papandrea (guitars, vocals), Akil James (drums), and Adam Colangelo (keyboards).
