Her first CD release, "Better Days", shows her talents as a songwriter with thirteen original tunes full of the universal themes of life and love. "Where Do You Fall" is a beautiful ballad of hope and the Fleetwood Mac influenced "Hard Habit to Break" tells the darker side of a clandestine relationship. The Memphis sound comes out on "Trouble" and "Mind your P's & Q's" and "House on the Hill" is a classic country/folk song.

Maria Spence fronts a group of passionate pickers with a stage presence and power in her voice that commands attention. This gal can sing. Not only can she sing, but she can probably break glass, or at least do a Memorex commercial. With a voice capable of sending shivers up your spine, she covers Emmylou Harris, Bonnie Raitt and Lucinda Williams as if the songs were written for her.
