Hello, my name is Marie Williams. Thank you for visiting my Web Page. I am excited about this excellent opportunity, provided by CD Baby, to introduce my music to the world via the Internet!
I am a Lyricist-Vocalist and a Writer-Publisher Member of ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. I am also a Recipient of a Grant from the District of Columbia Commission of the Arts & Humanities & the National Endowment for the Arts. My Independent Record Publishing Label is "Three Roses & A Moonbeam" and I am pleased to announce the release of my CD, "High Calling."
"High Calling" is my first Contemporary-Christian CD. It includes my original songs, as well as my version of "Amazing Grace." My original songs are based on the message in Philippians 3:13-14.
I sing Christian-Gospel and Contemporary music with a mezzo-soprano vocal range. I am not a gimmicky or stylistic singer. I am a sincere singer who focuses on vocal clarity, because I want my audience to "understand" my message. My musical objectives are to encourage, to motivate and to witness.
I enjoy a variety of music styles, including Classical, Christian, Jazz, Country, Latin, Native American and Motown. Therefore, my music is not limited to a particular genre. It is limited, however, within the confines of good taste. Following are some highlights of my experience to date:
APPEARANCES on BCTV, in Bowie,MD, "Annetta's Arts Corner,i.e., a Personal Showcase, in 1998, a 1999 Christmas Special and a Special Program in 2000.
PERFORMANCES at Community Organizations, Churches and the Food for Thought Restaurant in Washington, DC, (where Mary Chapin Carpenter performed).
RADIO INTERVIEWS/PROMOTIONS at WXCF MIX 104 FM in Clifton Forge, VA, on "the Precious Memories Gospel Hour" and at WPFW 89.3 FM, in Washington, DC, on "the Turning Points Program."
RECORDINGS "Come Sup With Me," a Single, Inspirational Cassette and "High Calling," a Contemporary-Christian CD.
