If thoughts of acoustic music bring to mind images of campfire sing-a-longs, you haven't heard McKinley Place. The band brings more energy to the stage with their two guitars and one lead singer than an entire crew of caffeine-crazed camp counselors. Bryan Shackle and Patrick Gibbs began playing together as a duo after high school, performing under the names, "Allies" and "Shackle and Gibbs." They met Michael Kropp when they began recording in a studio - located at McKinley Place - and the duo became a band.

Getting their start in Minneapolis this acoustic rock trio has gained a loyal fan base in both the Twin Cities and Saint Cloud. They are the winners of SCSU's 2003 Battle of the Unsigned Bands and have been growing in popularity ever since. The two original singers are best friends and that can be heard in the way their voices complement each other's to create a beautiful and unique sound backed by drums and driving guitar rhythm.
