Surf Music in Sonata Allegro Form

11 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Instrumental Rock, CLASSICAL: Contemporary

Details:
I love the Ventures and I love Beethoven String Quartets.I'm a drummer so I wrote something I always wanted to hear.I had to go to school to learn how Beethoven wrote.I've played with guitar players all my life so I put the two together.
I play the vibraphone and the guitar and I wanted to get out of the "Rock" head without abandoning the sound.Jazz is O.K. but I prefer the formalism of classical and rock music.I like keeping the improvisational opportunities to a minimum because that seems to compress the players energy into delivering their ideas more elegantly.
I lived in New York City during the seventies and early eighties.I did the CBGB/Max's Kansas City scene as well as the off/off broadway scene as a percussionist and wrote songs and led bands called the "Weals"then the "Ushers".That scene died,as far as I could see, in 1982.Things got polticaly correct and too Shmoozey and to expensive for me.John Lennon and Andy Warhol died and left their parasites to run the show.It got to be a drag so I left.
