Details:
BARRY MCLOUGHLIN - pronounced "Mu-Glock-Lin" - is a Celtic born and Canadian raised contemporary acoustic artist who resides in Sioux Lookout, Northwestern Ontario, Canada. The acclaimed singer/songwriter credits Gordon Lightfoot, Kris Kristofferson and Harry Chapin as his early influences.

Barry McLoughlin's intimate song, haunting voice, and raw acoustic performance are compelling, engaging, and refreshing.

Barry McLoughlin's "train ballad" Track 10 - THING CALLED LOVE was recently selected for inclusion on Volume 21 of the Acoustic Rainbow Sampler along side Mr. "American Pie" Don McLean.

Barry's songwriting craft was recently featured across the USA on Tom May's River City Folk Show. His debut PIECES CD has received critical acclaim. "Roots Music Report", Texas listed PIECES as the HOTTEST NEW FOLK RELEASE of December.

Barry McLoughlin composed his first song "Why" at age 8 - won his first Folk Competition by age 15 - and graced the hallowed stage of Massey Hall, Toronto by age 16. He has always respected the solo artist who can sit on a barstool, with acoustic guitar in hand, spinning narrative tales that expose the joys, sorrows, and frailties of the human condition.

Barry humbly admits "The international response to my original song makes me feel like a fine wine":

"What a wonderful piece of work! We purchased it many months ago and have been playing it ever since" - The Madison's, Minneapolis, MN

McLoughlin's Canadiana brand of original song and troubadour style of presentation are spreading like wildfire across acoustic airwaves - nationally and abroad.
