Details:
When people ask, What kind of music do you play? I share with them that Count Basie said, "There are only 2 kinds of music." "The good kind and the other kind." I play the good kind.

Michael Clune was born and raised in Hancock, New York. A bordertown, located in the upstate area. At the age of 13, Michael started playing the drums (studying under Russ Cariot) singing in local clubs and the popular music camps that outlined the area. Among these clubs was the family hotel known as "The Delaware Inn". This hotel lent culture to the area and was known for attracting musicians from all over the East Coast. At age 18, Michael moved to Boston and attended the Berklee School of Music, studying jazz drumming and percussion under Joe Hunt and Alan Dawson. At this time Michael picked up the piano, flute and ryhthm guitar and began his recording and song writing career.

Michael relocated to the west coast and the Seattle area where he performed Jazz, Country, Rock, Blues, and Folk with various local bands, (Gopher Broke, Night Life, China Rose) playing drums, keyboards, lead and session vocals and writing. Some highlights for Michael included a performance at Mardi Gras in Seattle and a west coast tour that included Tucson, Arizona and a performance at the Canadian Expo in Vancouver, B.C. In 1980 with the assistance of Al Monroe a local, popular disc jockey Michael performed successfully for the next 15 years in King/Snohomish County clubs including: Evergreen State Fair, Ballard Firehouse, The Back Stage, and Bumbershoot.

In 2000, Michael began working in the the publishing and recording end of the music business. He began recording with his brother James Clune (singer, song writer in the Portland, Oregon area) and Lonnie Turner, (bassist in Steve Miller band). In 2003 Michael performed at the "Triple Door" in Seattle with Alice Sturart and Walter White for a special 2 night performance. After two years in the making, Michael is releasing his first CD called "Easy Street" and is currently performing in the Seattle area.

"To all the great musicians that performed on "Easy Street", and to those that influenced the tunes, I am looking forward to working with you on the next release." Mucho Thanks!
