Melissa Mulligan's first full-length, solo album, demonstrates her love affair with powerful melodies, thoughtful lyrics and lush harmonies. The twelve original songs on the record depict bittersweet love, inevitable loss, overwhelming joy, and the struggle to maintain the purest love of life.
"Remembering the way my mind worked throughout the recording and mixing process (a scary thing, I assure you!), I can tell you that I was most inspired by the songs, arrangements, and production found on albums by Neil Finn, Aimee Mann, and Sheryl Crow. They can all sound quite Beatlesque, the point of origin for all pop music within me. I don't presume to sound anything like these artists, each unique and completely brilliant. I simply feel that those three know how to make a damn good record, and listening to their work made me say Man! I really want to make a damn good record!"
For the past several years, Melissa has been at the forefront of the New England music scene, performing both as a solo act and with bands in places such as Foxwoods Resort and Casino, Kenny's Castaway in NYC, The Stonebridge, regional colleges, Champlin's Marina in Block Island, RI, and, most recently, The Trowbridge Symposium in Nashville, TN.
