A versatile musician, Mike Bogle was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1992 for his big band arrangement of Chick Corea's composition "Got A Match?" An accomplished trombonist, pianist, vocalist, composer, and arranger, Dr. Bogle currently calls Arlington, Texas his home, where he is Associate Director of Jazz Studies and Director of Music Media and Technology at the University of Texas at Arlington, directing Jazz Band II, Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combos, and teaching Jazz Improvisation, Arranging, Composition, Music Media, Recording Techniques, and Computers in Music.
Dr. Bogle's performance credits include: Doc Severinsen, James Moody, Slide Hampton, Jaco Pastorious, Ira Sullivan, Pete Christlieb, Duffy Jackson, Bobby Caldwell, Burt Bacharach, Diana Ross, and Tom Jones.
Dr. Bogle is a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS), American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers (ASCAP), International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE), Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), International Trombone Association (ITA), and American Federation of Musicians (AFM).
